In 1850 Joel Houghton had patented the first dishwasher. The dishwasher was made out of wood and had a handle that was splashing water on dishes. In 1965 L. Alexander patented a dishwasher that used hand crank and had gears to spin a rack of dishes through the dishwasher. This dishwasher like the other that was made in 1850 didn't do much to clean the dishes. The dishwashers that was made didn't do much cleaning after all.
The first practical dishwasher that was made by the Cochran in 1886 was bought at the World's Fair by hotels and large restaurants. Only hotels and restaurants believed in Josephina's idea.
In 1950 the dishwasher got the right size and had a proper cleaning for home use. The dishwasher had the proper size for kitchen uses and also got cheaper to be more affordable for public.
