History of Microwave Oven

The microwave oven was designed in 1945 by self thought engineer Percy Spencer. P. Spencer was working for United States Navy at Raytheon. Spence was working with magnetron that have produced microwave radiation. The magnetron was used for then new radar technology. while Percy was testing the magnetron, he notice that the candy in his pocket melted from the microwave radiation. He made few experiment with the foods. The microwave was cooking the foods at fast rate. Right after the accidental discover Percy went and patented the new microwave.
In 1947 very large microwave was on the market. It was over five feet in height and weighted over seven hundred fifty pounds. The price was very large too :). Back then you could of bought a new ford for two thousand dollars, but the price of the microwave was unbelievably expensive. The price of the microwave at the market was five thousand dollars. People who have purchased the microwave were not happy with the product because it was so large and did not cook the foods as they wanted it.
By 1950 the new microwave oven was produced by the engineers. In the late 1960s the new microwave ovens were at the market. The new microwaves that were made was specially for the home use, the price was also reduced by four thousand five hundred dollars. The microwaves became more affordable for five hundred dollars.
In our age, there are over two hundred million microwaves all over the country. The microaves are made not only to cook food, but also for drying wood for the construction industry.
